Sokoto State Immunization Budget Accountability Annual Scorecard 2024

Published in
by AFENET/AHBN

The Sokoto State Immunization Budget Accountability Scorecard 2024, developed by AHBN and AFENET through Gavi’s Zero-Dose Learning Hub, tracks government and partner commitments to routine immunization financing at the sub-national level. Using a traffic-light scoring system across budget summaries, health financing, and service delivery indicators, it highlights significant progress—such as increasing Penta 1 coverage to 85.9 percent—while identifying critical gaps in budget release (currently 40%) and a 9 percent vaccine dropout rate. Data gathered through desk reviews and interviews provide a comprehensive assessment. The scorecard concludes with targeted recommendations for the state government to increase budget releases to 60 percent in 2025 and for civil society organizations to vigorously advocate for reaching every zero-dose child in Sokoto State.
