Between January and June 2025, the Mali Learning Hub advanced implementation research (IR) and data-use studies to strengthen immunization planning and monitoring. The Learning Hub finalized and disseminated Phase 1 of its IR, which examined barriers to reaching zero-dose (ZD) and under-immunized children and assessed the early rollout of two digital tools—Coach2PEV, a supportive supervision platform, and MEDEXIS, Mali’s electronic logistics management system. Phase 2 preparation began in parallel, including updates to data-collection tools and a remote ecosystem assessment confirming that while human resources are largely available, gaps in connectivity, equipment, and digital literacy persist. A hybrid-estimation exploratory study launched in June 2025 combines routine DHIS2 data, IHME estimates, WorldPop, and LQAS information to generate more accurate national and sub-district estimates of ZD children. This study is helping to identify hotspots and inform differentiated immunization strategies. Findings from the Learning Hub’s research highlighted persistent barriers—frequent stockouts, data fragmentation, and sociocultural and gender-related constraints—while also demonstrating early uptake of evidence by national and subnational stakeholders. Research results informed the Ministry of Health's planning for Equity Accelerator Fund investments and contributed to the approval of Mali’s Cold Chain Equipment Optimization Platform application. This semiannual update synthesizes evidence, progress, and lessons learned documenting Mali’s efforts to strengthen data systems, improve digital readiness, and translate evidence into practical action to reach missed children.
